We are Derbyshire Autism Services Group, known to our many families and
colleagues as DASG.The DASG is based in the heart of Derbyshire in Ripley which allows us to cover the diverse area of Derbyshire.Newsletters containing useful information are sent out to over 700 families every month.
People from all-over Derbyshire can contact us for advice and signposting to other organisations in their area that may be of assistance.
To promote and enhance the care of people with AutismSpectrum Conditions & other disabilities
To assist the carers of people with autism & disabilities
To raise awareness of autism and the problems and constraints individuals and their families encounter
To provide support, information and guidance to enable people with autism and their carers to maximize their opportunities and potential
We are direct service providers through a Children in Need grant to 20 children & young people mainly in the Amber Valley area.This service can behome or community based, its purpose is to provide activity & stimulation and theadvancement of self –help skills to young people with Autistic SpectrumConditions and other disabilities.This project also gives parents/cares a break.
Flexible 1:1 & Group Activities
Contracts with Derbyshire County Council provide servicesin Chesterfield,Bolsover, and North East, Erewash, Southern Derbyshire & Derbyshire Dales.Providing 1:1 work with individuals up to the age of 18 and in some cases 25yrs of age, these contracts include individual programmes tailor made to thepersons interests & needs.We also provide “Group Activities” to stimulate social contact, inclusion and social interaction, through to “Away Days” which take our children & young people on trips to interesting places.
We hold two small NHS grants that help us provide for a small number of people in High Peak & Southern Derbyshire.
We also receive donations from Trusts & Companies which help support these services.
Adults are catered for through a grant from Derbyshire County Council where advice, information and support is provided to anyone living in Derbyshire County Council area’s .We also run two Adult Social Skills groups each month, and have several small programmes which have been possible thanks to fundraising & donations.
